  • There was a notification at the top of my dashboard saying to click to make my website mobile friendly, for Google SEO purposes. Unfortunately when I did that, it changed the layout of my blog. I want to undo this update, but I am not sure how.
    Thanks!

Do you know what the exact update was?

I can’t remember 🙁 I didn’t think twice about doing the update because it said you can easily undo if you want to. But I can’t find it anywhere!

Have you tried disabling all plugins then checking to see if this fixes the issue?

If it does, begin by enabling each plugin one by one and checking again after each enable to see which plugin was causing the issue.

Let me know if this has worked of if we should troubleshoot further 🙂

No worries, this should be pretty easy to fix.

Hi David – I just tried that and it didn’t work. I didn’t download a plugin to make it mobile friendly. I think it might have been a wordpress update…

It used to be that I had things in a side bar of my blog – a photo of me, popular posts, advertising etc. But now it is all at the bottom.

Can you post your website link so that I may take a peek and see if there is something wrong there?

    Thanks.

Okay from reviewing the layout, what isn’t the same now that was different after the update? There may be a way for you to change that back and keep the update that was implemented.

Normally the blog post takes up ⅔ of the screen, and on the right side there is a side bar that contains my photo and a “Hi – I’m Amanda” blurb, followed by newsletter subscription, disclosure, search bar, recent posts, popular posts, archives, share my button and advertising.
If you scroll down to the very bottom, they’re all there, just not at the side.
