# underscore allowed in wordpress username?

 * Hello I am trying to get my wordpress to allow underscores in the username. I
   have my site hosted on a provider I will not mention right now, but they are 
   telling me that restriction came from upgrading to wordpress version 3.4 But 
   I know that is not true because I have a site on godaddy which is 3.4.1 and I
   can have usernames with and underscore in them with no problem. So – can anyone
   here confirm what wordpress allows and doesn’t as far as special characters? 
   If you have this on a page already please just direct me there. thanks so much!

   you get an error message? or what happens when you try to create the user?

 * it was just our hosting service that added on some extra restrictions and they
   were trying to say it was from wordpress so I was looking for some confirmation…
