In the admin panel, we see “Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘frames’ of undefined (admin-3-17-0.js” slide up from the bottom.

It will not allow me to edit the slides, add or remove slides or add links.

We also get the error “Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘frames’ of undefined (admin-3-17-0.js)”

    Thanks for your help.

    cheers,
    David

  • Hi,

Those two errors are the same. Did you meant to copy/paste a different error for your second comment?

So that error is actually coming from WordPress. We use wp.media.frames to open the media library frame that lets you select an image. But wp.media is provided by WordPress.

I’m not sure why that error would show up but the best option is to try and disable other plugins to see if there is one conflicting. Other plugins can manipulate WordPress functionality so there might be one that needs an adjustment to work nicely with metaSlider.

Let me know what you discover.

Oops! Yes the other error is: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'hasClass' of undefined (wp-auth-check.min.js)

I’ll run through the other plugins and see if I can work out what else might be causing it, and let you know.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

    Hi guys.
    Plugins deactivation does not work.
After deactivating i receive two new warnings:
    This and this one

Seems for meta slider to conflict with wordpress 5.5.

    Hi @wolfshoeher

That issue is related to the pro version. I tested that part of the code before WP 5.5. and couldn’t get that to trigger. Can you contact the pro support channel and I’ll get that fixed asap.

    Hi @davidnash

The second error happens when JavaScript fails in general, no matter the cause. If you can check the plugins hopefully we can find the cause.

Thanks @kbatdorf – looks like it was the Gutenberg plugin that was the issue. Seems to be okay now, I’ll confirm with the client.

@davidnash it didnt solve by deactivating Gutenberg plugin, did you find any way to solve it?

    Hey @nadiaam67
    Try
    1. Install and activate: Enable jQuery Migrate Helper Plugin
    2. Check for Meta Slider classes to be not with same name as any theme or plugin classes (i’ve found some at my Rara Business, as wow animation).

    Hope it will be helpful.

@wolfshoeher thanks alot by installing Enable jQuery Migrate Helper Plugin the problem solved.
