A few months ago I noticed a “Uncaught TypeError: jQuery(…).qtip is not a function” alert showing up on my chrome console, but it wasn’t causing any notable issues so I ignored it. For some reason it just recently started causing another plugin on our site to not function properly.

The alert comes from “https://jewishboard.org/wp-content/plugins/give/assets/js/frontend/give.all.min.js?ver=1.3.6”, and when deactivating the give plugin it goes away (and allows the other plugin to work properly).

I’m currently using version 1.3.6 of Give because the design firm who built our site suggested that we don’t update the plugin because it might cause some custom work you did for us to get disrupted (otherwise I would have updated Give to hope it resolved this).

Can you please help? I’d submit this through Priority Support but since we’re not the ones who registered the license for our site (jewishboard.org) I don’t have access.

    Thank you in advance.

Are you only using Give on this ONE page:
    https://jewishboard.org/donate

Or is it used in a sidebar or shortcode somewhere else on the site?

Also which plugin is having trouble with that JS notice?

That’s our main donate page but we have a few other non-linked donate pages (if we’re running an event specific donation, etc).

I kept poking around on our end to resolve this, and noticed that when we went to fix another site issue, we moved <?php wp_head(); ?> so it went before some other scripts that were manually entered. Moving it back to where it originally was resolved the Uncaught TypeError (and allowed the other plugin to work), so hopefully everything is resolved after all (just wish this happened before I ended up contacting you!).

That said, is there a way to contact someone on your end to see what kind of updates we can make to the plugins? My preference is to keep things updated, but I’m concerned that if I ever update Give it will disrupt whatever custom work you’ve done for us.

Another thing you could try is to go to “Donations > Settings > Advanced” and enable the option to Load Scripts in Footer. That can sometimes help avoid conflicts like that as well.

We definitely want you to keep Give updated, particularly because there are some great new features since 1.3.6

If you are an Add-on customer, please contact us through our Priority Support form and list the changes that were made to the core plugin so we can review and advise you:

    Thanks!
