I am running into an issue that I have never had before and trying to figure out how to resolve it.
Before, when I created a new post in WordPress, if I selected a category for that post to be in, that would be the only category to show that the post is contained within.
However, recently after updating WordPress and moving to the gutenberg editor for my theme, whenever I create a new post and select a category, the Uncategorized option is also attached to my post category list when I view my posts under the posts section of the WordPress admin area.
This was never happening before, and if I go to edit the post, Uncategorized does not even show as an option to select to remove it. Is there a reason for this?
