Installed Googe Sitekit, works fine for an hour or two. Then all of a sudden it says

    Data error in Analytics

    Invalid Credentials

I need to reset it, and redo my Google login etc. Works for another two hours, then dies again. Getting very frustrating 🙁

Thanks for reaching out @wraith911, and sorry to hear of your frustration. With a little bit of troubleshooting we can hopefully determine the cause and ensure this no longer occurs. In order to do so, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Has this only started to occur for you recently, or has this been happening to you since you first installed and set up the plugin?

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    I submitted the Site Health.

I changed the admin email and also updated the Google Site Kit plugin, this is when the problem started.

I tried going to Settings then “Reset Site Kit”.

    I tried Tools/Available Tools/Reset Site Kit.

I uninstalled Google Site Kit and repeated those steps and it still isnt working.

It still works for like an hour or two, then all of a sudden it decides:

    Data error in Analytics

    Invalid Credentials

Many thanks for sharing the additional information @wraith911. As I can see a couple of plugins that can impact Site Kit behavior, and you’re encountering an “invalid credentials” message frequently, can you temporarily disable your Admin and Site Enhancements (ASE) and also your User Role Editor plugins? Please do this after Site Kit is connected, and ensure it remains connected without any error immediately after deactivating the plugins.

After some time, please check whether you encounter the message any further. You may wish to perform this check overnight, with both plugins mentioned above left deactivated. This may be useful given you’re reporting this occurs after an hour or two.

If the error does appear once more, with both plugins deactivated, please share any browser console errors, along with any invalid XHR response on the screen with this error. Please share these using this form once again, as opposed to sharing here in the forums.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

Tried it by deactivating those two plugins. Still didn’t work after two hours. 🙁

Sent my XHR and console errors.

Thanks for the update @wraith911. Unfortunately your site seems down at present, so I’m unable to check the screenshots provided. As it’s possible there is a wider problem with your site, once you do restore access, can you share your Site Health status  (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? I can also check the screenshots once your site is live once more.

Thanks for the update @wraith911. Unfortunately the link to the screenshots you shared is not valid, so I can’t see the console errors or any invalid XHR response. Can you share once more, while also sharing your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status).

Oh sorry, I did a full site backup.

    Sent through another form.

Appreciate the update @wraith911. From reviewing the screenshots you shared, it looks like something at browser level possible host level is impacting blocking your sites communication with AdSense. While this doesn’t help us determine whether the same cause may be impacting the Site Kit dashboard overall, can you expand on the console errors highlighted here, and share them in the form of a screenshot or recording? To expand, click on the down pointer/arrow.

Another thing I would suggest checking, is only accessing your site from a Chrome browser incognito window only for a period of time where you usually encounter the “Invalid Credentials” error. This can help indicate a browser related feature impacting Site Kit functionality.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
