  • I noticed some duplicate photos in my media library. I also noticed that there are some ways to sort of classify the images it contains.

Can I safely delete the images that are unattached.
I am assuming unattached images are not linked to from anything/anywhere on my blog.

not necessarily. For example, on one of my sites, I use ACF image fields to hold images as theme options (e.g., default_featured_image). Those do not show up as attached to any post.

So, the answer is a definite maybe. It depends on your site. Sorry there’s not a better answer. I’m testing out the plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/media-cleaner/, which would seem to work for the “default’ cases.

    OK and thanks

Can you tell me why this is happening:

I also cannot find images in my library but I can see that I have them stored when I click on the image on my blog.

If I select “images” “all dates” I get nothing.
If I select “images on this post?” I get nothing too.

I just got ACF, it came with Inbound Now. It is pretty awesome. ACF really helped with one of my landers. Once I knew what I was doing (thanks Hudson Attwell) I was able to do just what I wanted.

ACF is awesome. Buying ACF Pro was a good investment. Check out repeater fields and options pages. 🙂

If you’re missing thumbnails, try regenerating them. There are a number of “rebuild thumbnail” plugins in the repository.
