Check if your .htaccess file is writable.
Also see if your php include the required access to edit files.

    Thanks

Sometimes I see same problem. .htaccess is writable, file owners and permission is OK.

How to check that?? I am using a child theme. Is there any problem while copying PHP files?
Please help me to discuss it step by step. Thank you.

Access your server through ftp and check if .htaccess file own correct write permission. Check with your host which is that, usually rw-rw-r– / 0664
Or use your cPanel file manager and do the same as above.

If still can’t make it to write to .htaccess file, you may want to check the WP Hide PRO which include a Setup interface, with rewrite data and steps to take to manually update the .htaccess file.

    RESOLVED:

Just De-activate and RE-activate the plugin.

    You are the hero man!

    @cwte

    You’re welcome.

May I ask if any of you who see this message occasionally at the admin use Super Cache?

Same issue here. Reinstalling the plugin and setting htaccess to 777 do not help. I am also using a child theme, single WP install, no Super cache. The error message seems flawed…

First try to de-activate other plugins and see if make a fix, sometimes the other codes wrongly use the flush_rules() which hijack the default filters for rewrite.

If still not working, consider to get in touch with us through contact at plugin website and we will help further.

I found the conflicting plugin, but it does not contain flush_rules anywhere. What other functions might be the cause?

Hm… it contains flush_rewrite_rules in one place, but if I comment that out, the conflict remains. Any other ideas what to look for?

Which is the other plugin name? I’ll try to replicate the problem on this side.

it is https://www.ohmyquiz.io, paid-only plugin I am afraid. Maybe you have some general debugging tips for me and which could be added to your FAQ later?
