@headroamernan Hi there, thank you for reporting your topic.
I do see you are using version 1.10.0 of the Web Stories for WordPress plugin. Let’s gather a few details to determine what could be causing this issue.
– Could you check to see if there any browser console errors where you are getting the image cropping error?
– If possible, could you share a screenshot or screen recording of the issue? You can use services like JumpShare or Recordit to share.
– What browser, browser version, and operating device are you using?
– Who is your hosting provider?

The link is the screenshot of the console error.
I’m on BigSur 11.4, Chrome Version 93.0.4577.25
Hosting provider is siteground
@headroamernan It appears there is some mixed content messaging in the browser console errors screenshot.
– Could you check if WordPress > Settings > WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) are HTTP or HTTPs? What have you set for the “Home URL” and “Site URL” under WordPress Settings -> General?
– Does that media file exist in your WordPress media library as well? Does this occur with any of the stock photos?
– Do you offload your media to any external services?
Hi there, I’m also having the same issue.
I had to be logged in as an admin, not an editor, to my site (I have 2 different roles). That did the trick for me; hope it’s that simple for you.
best

@headroamernan Heads up that we have identified this as a bug for users with the role of Editor. I’ve created a GitHub issue here and I’ll update this topic when a fix has been released. Thanks for catching this!
Wow, that’s awesome. So happy to have helped do something constructive!
