Unable to add a photo from the media library

    I am using the Iconic One theme and since the beginning of April 2014, I have not been able to upload a picture to the media library or post a featured picture. If I click on the Add Media from a post or page, the media library continuously loads but does not display any photos. If I select a photo to upload, I receive an error that reads:

    An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.

    I receive a crunching notice if I upload a picture directly to the Media Library, and the photos appear to upload successfully and are displayed there I am not able to insert them into a post or page.

    I disabled all of my plugins, but that did not resolve the problem. I also called BlueHost, and they recommended changing my theme, but I have a lot of traffic visiting my site due to a marketing event, so I am not willing to change my theme at this time. I updated the theme but that also did not resolve the issue.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
