Unable to upload images or update plugins

    I keep getting errors – I get this when I try and upload images – “creaksqueak.jpg The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2017/10.”

    and this when I update or install plugins- “Update Failed: Could not create directory.”

    It’s not constant though – I just managed to upload one pic and install a plugin, then it stopped working again. I’ve looked over old topics, messed around with my permissions (everything was 755 and I tried setting it to 777 briefly with no luck).

    I’m waiting to hear back from my hosts but was hoping some people had some other ideas. My error logs haven’t logged an issue since April.

    Check the OWNERSHIP, not the permissions on the directories, starting at wp-content. They should be the same ownership, with perms 755.
