When I upload images in webp format using media library, they are automatically converted to png format, what is the reason for this situation? Even if I deactivate all plugins, I still have this problem.

First of all, thank you very much for your answer, but what I need at the moment is to upload images directly in webp format, not in the form of optimization through the plugin. Every time when uploading it will show as webp for a very short time, and then it will immediately change the format to png, I don’t understand what is the reason for this.

I am very sorry, due to my negligence, I did not check the format of the converted image, which resulted in the other party only changing the suffix name of the image, the real format was not modified.
