Unable to Upload Images

It seems as though this is a common problem, but I still haven’t found a resolution…
I am unable to upload images. The theme I’m using is Mistylook-2 (if that helps).
Whenever I upload an image, regardless of size, location, or file name, i get nothing but a blue text link of the file name. It seems to take time as though there is actual uploading going on, but I never see the image. If I select the Browse after uploading (the tab at the top, not the upload Browse button) I see nothing but grey boxes. When I try to Send to Editor, what appears in my post is a box with the blue text link. If I preview, I see nothing but the 404 File Not Found message.
