  • Hey b-summers!

Thanks for swinging by the forum. I totally understand the concern over not seeing that form respond as expected.

To clarify, would you happen to be using an embedded form from your MailChimp account? This forum would actually be dedicated to the use of the MailChimp List Subscribe Form, which would be a WordPress plugin that doesn’t contain a popup mode.

If you’d need help with a MailChimp embedded form, please feel free to reach out to MailChimp Support directly, and feel free to take a peek at the following article:

My embedded signup form isn’t working.: http://eepurl.com/gOG6

That said, if you encounter issues with our plugin, can you clarify the URL for the site where the plugin is located? When I attempted to access the URL above, it led to a 404 error.

    Have a great day!

I am not using an embed form from MailChimp. All I did in mailchimp was set up a List.

I installed the MailChimp List Subscribe Form (which is why I’m posting in this forum), and am using the shortcode [mailchimpsf_form]

I know it’s not “meant” to be used in a popup code. And if you go the link I will post, you can clearly see I have it showing up both in a pop-up, and just as a shortcode on the page, and neither method allows me to type anything into the boxes.

Sorry about the link not working, I had it as a draft, and I could see it, but didn’t realize no one else could.

    Hey b-summers,

Thanks for replying back with that information. I was able to take a look at the forms on that page, and I was able to use both to submit my email address and name information to be added to the list. In this case, I would recommend clearing the browser cache and cookies, testing the form out in another browser, as well as making sure that no auto-fill extensions in the browser are preventing you from entering data in those fields.

If this is unsuccessful, reply back with the steps that you’re taking to submit the form, as well as the browser/OS version that you’re currently using, and we’ll be happy to dig into this further.

    Thanks again for stopping by!

It seems to work in everything but Firefox (which is what I use).

I cleared the cache, and cookies, restarted my computer, and it’s still not working. I’m running FF version 28.0, on a Windows 8.0 computer. I have no autofill enabled on my firefox browser.

I also just installed it on a laptop we have in the office. Also running Windows 8. The newest version of FF 31.0, and it won’t let me fill in information there either. The computer has never had FF installed, so I can’t see there being a caching/cookie/or autofill issue.

I’ve also just checked in FF on a mac, and it doesn’t work there either.

    Hey b-summers,

Thanks for posting that follow up. I was able to test out the form in Firefox, and could replicate that same behavior. Upon further inspection of the styles on those field, it appears as though there’s an additional amount of padding added to input fields from the main-styles.css stylesheet. When that padding is disabled, the entry into that field displays as expected. The reason this only happens in Firefox appears to be caused by the way that Firefox may handle some box sizing: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/box-sizing

I’d recommending removing the padding from that referenced main-style.css style sheet and then testing out the form again.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!

Thanks Gunter. I overrode the padding.
I kept looking for background colors, and text colors, and didn’t even think padding would be an issue.

    Thanks again.
