    Hi Mark,

I’ve been able to identify the Sticky Element of my page (#site-navigation). I’m using a theme called “Fooding”. I know it’s the right element and there’s only one such element on the page.

    I’ve tried with/without the Legacy/Dynamic modes but I can’t make it work.

    Any suggestion or idea?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi, thanks for trying my plugin. 🙂

I’ve looked at your site, and it appears that your menu is not sticking properly because it has position: absolute applied to it.

When an element is positioned with that (or any other position value), stickyness will not work properly. If possible, try to avoid using this.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for your answer. I’ve removed the plugin that caused the “position:absolute” to appear. However, the problem remains the same. I’ve double checked and there’s no other “position” in my source code. Any other idea?

Thanks so much for your time

    Hi @simplefootball,

From what I can see, there is still a position: absolute applied to the menu, which is keeping it from becoming sticky:

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks again for your time.

I’ve been able to change in the css and delete all the position:absolute related to the .main-navigation class. However I’m afraid it still doesn’t work…

    I’m getting desperate here

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks in advance

I’m sorry, but when I check your site, the menu is still there using position: absolute.

Before you enable the plugin, you’ll first need to make sure that the menu is placed properly without any absolute or relative positioning. Once that is done and it works, you can activate the plugin and I’ll be able to help.

    Hi Mark,

Sorry, I had to set everything back to original as it wasn’t working and had no clue what to do. I’ve removed again all the position: absolute/relative/static related to the .main-navigation class and activated the plugin.

    Waiting for your feedback 🙂

    Cheers

Now I don’t see the menu at all anymore. Also, the .site-header-wrap still has position: absolute applied to it, and that will cause issues too.

Please make sure that (even without my plugin active) the menu is placed properly without any absolute or relative positioning.

    Hi Mark,

Problem is… I have some position: absolute/relative/static pretty much everywhere with that theme…

    Here are a couple:

    .site-header
    .site-header-wrap
    .container
    .site-branding
    .site-title
    .main-navigation
    .menu-primary-navigation-container
    .main-navigation ul ul
    .main-navigation li

I’ve removed all of them but now my header/menu is completely effed off… Can I keep some active which won’t cause interference with your plugin?

    Thanks

I don’t have any other solution I’m afraid. There are ways to get your menu placed properly without the use of position: absolute but it would require moving things around in your templates.

If you absolutely have to use absolute positioning for your menu, then my plugin won’t be compatible with your theme, unfortunately.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks anyway for your help and time spent answering me, really appreciated.

Keep on the good work and whenever I’ll find a theme that suits my needs and without any position: absolute in it, I’ll give a second try to your plugin.

    Cheers
