  • just see a page of code again….

Sounds like php is not running. Ask your webhost. Who is the host?

According to my host all is fine – I get a ‘replace this page with your index page’ message.

That sounds like you have the hosts default index.html file still in the main root folder. Delete that file and you’ll see your WordPress site.

Cataustic, sorry for my rudeness at not responded -been busy trying to crowdfund! Will try to do that now, thanks 🙂

But I can’t actually log in or start creating pages. I’m really confused. Can you help asap please? Not a 5 minute install at all!

This could also mean you installed WordPress in a sub-directory?

In this case, just deleting the index.html will not suffice. So check your folder structure, and see if the WP files are directly in the root of your site or in a directory. But then again, if you are able to access the login link that may not be the case.

So… In order to get help, we need a little more information.

Did you re-name the wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php? Moreover, looking at this link – http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress which installation method did you use and are you sure you followed each step correctly?

Thanks all for your advice. I spoke to host and they simply removed everything and installed the wordpress application for me. All sorted!
