# Unable to start plugin

 * Hi Jorge, I’m unable to get this plugin to work at all.
    I have changed my theme
   to the default wordpress 2014, disabled all other plugins and have even tested
   a fresh install on my local server… Are we due an update?

 * Quick update as you have responded to my comment on your website:
 * Not much I can include as to whats going on. I install the plugin and nothing
   happens.
 * I’m a wordpress developer so I’m not just being clueless.
    Have tried a fresh
   install, default theme and disabling all other plugins. But it still wont work.
   Sometimes it shows the “Next / Previous” links above the gallery but no slideshow
   at all.
 * Have even checked for wp_header and wp_footer, but it makes no difference.
 * I can link to the page it should be working on but I have had to disable it as

 * Does it work with the 2013 default theme? 2012 default theme?
 * I’ll take a look at this and see if anything is going on specifically with the
   2014 theme and WordPress 4.0.
 * Can you send me a page where the plugin is enabled and the slideshow is not working?
   That would be very helpful.
 * Seems like this might be related to a new version of WordPress or something like
   this.

 * I setup another totally new build and it now works on 2014 : [http://default.wearepixel.co.uk/gallery/](http://default.wearepixel.co.uk/gallery/)

 * Update:
 * Looks like the following isn’t being loaded, however when I manually add it, 
   the issue persists:
 * `<script type='text/javascript' src='//cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/modernizr/
   2.8.2/modernizr.min.js?ver=2.8.2'></script>`

 * ok I’ve found the issue. None of the script is loading in the footer.
 * Why it would work on one version of 2014 and not the other I don’t know. Both
   sites are on the same server and all plugins are disabled.
 * …I’m stumped.

 * People make sure you go to Dashboard > Settings > JSJ Gallery Slideshow
    and 
   untick “Check For Shortcode”
 * This is currently not working in version 2.0.2 of the plugin

 * Thanks for looking into this! Glad you found what it was. I’ll look into this
   and see what’s causing this.
 * This option should be checked off by default. What is turned on for you or was
   it there by default?
 * Here’s the line in the code that handles this: [https://github.com/thejsj/jsj-gallery-slideshow/blob/master/includes/handlers/class-static-enqueue-handler.php#L41](https://github.com/thejsj/jsj-gallery-slideshow/blob/master/includes/handlers/class-static-enqueue-handler.php#L41).
   As you can see it’s pretty simple and it’s handled by a default WordPress function.
   My questions would then be: 1. Where you using the [gallery] shorcode? 2. Was
   this content inside the WYSISYG? 3. Was this content being loaded by AJAX or 
   anything like that? I’m just curious and want to see what’s going on.

 * Hi Jorge, Sorry I have only just seen your reply.
 * I have since used the plugin on another website and it seems to be working just
   fine. I must have clicked this feature by mistake during setup… doh!
 * Off topic, I am unable to get the automatic slideshow to work. I havent touched
   any setting honest 🙂
