Hi, I have fixed the error, Thank you.
Hi there
I’m also experiencing this problem, however the site has been live for a number of years and only recently stopped working.
I have been chatting with my hosting company for days and we’ve exhausted everything their end. The website has always emailed out when someone logs in, and send weekly security reports, but the contact form says “THERE WAS AN ERROR TRYING TO SEND YOUR MESSAGE. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER.”
I have even installed an SMTP plugin, and test messages through that work, but the form still fails.
Is there an older version of contact form 7 I can try to rule out a conflict please?
Thanks
Tracy
Hi Tracy,
The issue I was facing was my hosting provider did not allow third party SMTP. Hence, I asked them to setup on my website for the sending and receiving the mails. And it did work. Maybe the SMTP records might have changed from your end or the server end. Do try talking to them regarding the same. I hope this will help.
Let me know the update for the same.
Cheers!
Thanks so much for replying!
The website never needed an SMTP plugin as the contact form just worked. However, I installed an SMTP plugin the other day and the hosting company gave me the details to put into that. I can send/receive test messages from the plugin fine – but the contact form still doesn’t send 🙁
It used to work, hence I was hoping there was an older version of the plugin I could test.
Interesting I had another website whose contact form suddenly stopped working too (different hosting company). Whilst that site used a different contact form, Contact Form 7 was installed. I removed that and now the other form works fine.
I’ve also been told there is malware on the other site mentioned above, so have now had to uninstall the CF7 plugin and create a new form….which now works too. So something is definitely wrong with this plugin, given that’s 2 sites on 2 different hosting platforms.
