I recently just installed a fresh version of wordpress, and I can’t search for plugins or themes using the dashboard.
    I get error
“An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration”
I believe this has to do with my host, But i’m not exactly sure what needs to be changed.
I’ve found several other posts regarding this issue and none with solutions.

everything else works fine. is their a certain port i need open?

This is a server issue – most commonly caused by a failure to compile PHP with cUrl. Contact your hosts about it.

I am not getting any errors from PhP with cUrl.
any other ideas? second most common cause? could it be a port issue?
