Does your MySQL user have the priviledge to “write” on the database ?
Folder and File permissions does not matter and make sure you are running the latest version of WordPress.
I have the latest version of wp installed. The database has to be writable because I have two users listed in the database.
I am not showing any error messages when I try to post.
Note: I have an older version of WP on the same webserver and database server (the tables have a different extension) and it works fine.
Hello, is there any support out there? It has been a week with this issue.
I have installed 2.3.3 twice now doing a clean install and clean database. Still unable to post, change ‘about’ page, etc.
I can add users, change blog description, so I know I can write to database (plus I have an older blog working fine on the same server and database.
There are no errors in my apache error log.
777 on the content folder, themes folder, and the default folder.
thats not the source of the problem, and just makes for security issues.
Does this host have mod_security installed? That you have an older version installed means nothing to that question. In other words, dont say that because an older version works, that your host must not be using mod_security– older WP versions didnt cause near as many mod_security issues as the new versions.
Other than that, If it were me I would be making sure that all the files are there, and that I didnt have anything inside an .htaccess causing problems.
Its hard to offer much more without seeing the way things are set up.
Maybe you ought to enlist someone to help you privately..
