Unable to reset cells to white background

I set the background of cells to denote status of the contents. When I post the code for white (#ffffff) into the tool It accepts it, shows white on the tool but when I apply it comes out hyperlink blue. Ive attempted on sites with and without data.

Ideally a way to reset a cell to zero formatting for the background?

Suggestions?
