Hi! I’ve had some trouble with my facebook integration as quite a few of the products synced from WooCommerce was outdated and did not update properly. To remedy this I deleted the product catalogue, disconnected WooCommerce and removed the app connection through facebook. When I try to set it up again fresh everything is going well until the last step of the connection workflow where i click finish on facebook: Something went wrong when connecting to facebook! Please try again.

I’ve tried the reset tool provided in other similar topics, I’ve removed the ID on wp-options.php, deleted the plugin and installed a new one. I’ve also tried different combinations of options for ads, shop on facebook and instagram shopping during setup. Nothing seems to do the trick. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

That’s something common when you do re-installation, since there is some old data left over somewhere.

I see that you didn’t mention that you remove the plugin data directly on the database, so I’d suggest that. Here’s the detail:

Next Steps: Remove FB for WooCommerce from Database

What we want to do next is to completely remove the Facebook for WooCommerce data stored in your WordPress database.

    – First of all, please backup your database [Important]

    – Deactivate Facebook for WooCommerce

    – Please navigate to your phpMyAdmin page, you might want to ask your host if you’re not sure, and then navigate to the SQL section and paste the code below into the white box, lastly please click Go:

    https://d.pr/3iYHSw
    Link to image: https://d.pr/3iYHSw

Click for the code to paste.

Sidenote: Sometimes some WordPress database has a unique table prefix, the most common prefix is wp, so the table will start like wp_options, but if your database has a different prefix, please ensure to adjust accordingly the above code.

Once, the above data removal is completed, please reactivate Facebook for WooCommerce and then go back to Marketing > Facebook, and click Get Started.

    I hope that helps!

Yay! No more error now. Thanks so much for a speedy response and easy guide. I figured the reset tool would clear the DB too, but your SQL query did the trick.

Maybe it’s possible to include an option to enable database and settings cleanup on uninstall in a future update?

    Hi @lykkelig!

Happy to hear that your issue got resolved.

It would be great to have you add your suggestions to the Ideas Board, which is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements: https://ideas.woocommerce.com/forums/133476-woocommerce?category_id=398356

    Thanks!
