Earlier this week, we discovered today we cannot “publish” any Events content. Anytime you click Publish, it says it has published but it does not change it’s status from Draft. I have double-checked everything I can think of, gone through troubleshooting list from the site, and even spoken with a different developer and we can’t seem to figure out what’s going on.

There are no permission related issues, that we can see.

We are on PHP 5.6, newest version of the plugin, newest version of WordPress (4.7.1)

  • It’s possible this is a conflict caused by your theme or another plugin. To check if it is, can you test with all other plugins deactivated and while running the default WordPress theme?

Part of the troubleshooting is trying those things. As I mentioned before, I have gone through everything in troubleshooting and switching to the default theme or deactivating all, and then one by one, plugins, did not help.

can you try to enable wp_debug or check your php logs to see if there’s any other error?

I did this as well, no errors.

Do you have the correct user capabilities active on your user account to publish events?

Yes. This is an admin with full permissions attempting to publish it.

Is everything checked for that user level under Events > Settings > General > User Capabilities?

    Yes it is.

Not sure what happened but with the update to 4.7.2 it seems to work again.

Ok, thanks for the update. Sounds like some weird bug with that specific version.
