    I’ve used updraftplus before, on every installation I have been managing, and it has worked flawlessly every time. This one though, I just installed updraftplus on a fresh installation of WP 5.8.1 and it appears to be impossible to open the settings page, or create a backup through the Updraftplus page. The Backup/Restore tab is accessible but non-functional, Migrate/Clone tab opens and the button to begin migration opens the appropriate form, Settings tab does nothing at all, Advanced Tools displays the configuration information, and lastly the Premium/Extensions tab displays the specs as expected. I have enabled WP_DEBUG, WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY, and WP_DEBUG_LOG in wp-config, but there’s no error anywhere to be found. Since this is a first with updraftplus, and probably not related to it, do you have any list with older versions I could try installing next? Or would you have any tips to assist me with this? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    Can you try to temporarily deactivate the other plugins and see if you get the same issue? It could just be a conflict with the other plugins.

    Or try using a different browser?

    There is no other plugin installed. It is a brand new installation of WP. Only WP is installed. Akismet and Hello World are immediately deleted, and then updraftplus is installed. I attempted to delete WP altogether and set it up anew, but the same thing happened a second time. I also tried with an older version of updraftplus which I had saved locally, but still the same occurred. In this case I would normally claim it would be the host, but then again all other installations I have been managing trouble free exist on the same host, and none of them has any issues with updraftplus (or other plugins) whatsoever. As a last measure I enabled WP_DEBUG, WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY, and WP_DEBUG_LOG, but nothing has been logged so far.

    I’ve tried this with Chrome, Chrome incognito, and Firefox Developers Edition, and it behaves the same throughout all three browsers.

    Hi,

    Can you re-install the plugin?

    You can also download the previous version from here – https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/advanced/ (bottom of the page). See if the older versions work?

    If the same issue, please check the browser’s developer tools if there are any errors?

    Hi Bryle,

    I’m touching base to let you know I had to return back to the old host due to some mis-configuration unrelated to WordPress, so I had to pause the investigation for a little while. I will resume in a few days to migrating, and if the issue persists, I will try installing the older version you have provided me with. If the issue reoccurs I will let you know.

    Hi Bryle,

    I am resuming to this thread to let you know that today I attempted to repeat the whole process from A to Z with my website, and this time none of the above errors/issues occurred. Therefore I guess that whatever it was the culprit, it is no more.
