Support » Plugin: Contact Form 7 CiviCRM integration » Unable to open settings page 504 time out

  • Hullo!

We are unable to access /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=cf7_civi_admin because the CiviCRM Path has trailing white space.

Unfortunately, it cannot be removed through the CMS because the page times out! We were able to fix it on a staging site where we had DB access.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Are you using 1.8? Is this with a local or remote CiviCRM system? Where exactly are you seeing this white space?

On that settings page, if I add trailing white space to the CiviCRM Path setting and save, I get Validation failed: Unable to parse returned JSON but the settings page loads correctly and I can simply remove the trailing spaces, resave and the validation succeeds.

    Thanks for the response!

    Using 1.8.
It is a remote CiviCRM system.

The white space was noticed when checking the values in the options table in the DB. I didn’t copy the white space value though! I can try and see if I can find an old backup of the db to retrieve it if you think it may help!?

I can’t reproduce the problem so if you can dig out any more information about what is happening that would be helpful.

So! When there is a white space at the end, the page takes almost 10 minutes to load (the production site will have a shorter timeout).

This is the end bit of the field, I hope it works as a comment here! It does seem to be a normal space and not an invisible character of some sort.

    /all/modules/civicrm/extern/rest.php

I can confirm that when the space is removed, the page loads in 1 second.

If I then manually add a space at the end again, and submit the form, it takes 10 minutes to submit and load the page again.

Interesting … mine fails quickly with the error message above. When it does eventually return, what does the validation message say?

I’ll modify it to trim any leading/trailing whitespace from those settings.

It returns the Validation failed: Unable to parse returned JSON message you mentioned.

    Thanks @aydun !
