Support » Plugin: WooCommerce » Unable to make 'Shop' page full width

I’ve got the WooCommerce plugin working fine on my website (primeresidential.org.uk) but no matter how much I play around with the ‘Shop’ page and adjust the Page Attributes to ‘Full Width Page’ – it makes no difference.

Changing this attribute on any other page has an immediate effect and you can see the change straight away, but the base shop page (http://www.primeresidential.org.uk/shop/) will not display as a full width page and leaves the right-hand sidebar visible, and I’m scratching my head wondering why.

Can anyone offer some advise on what I may be doing wrong and how to correct this issue – I can live with it not being a full width page but just for neatness and conformity across the website, it would look much better if I could resolve this issue.

    Many thanks in advance.

The shop page is not a real page, so settings like that won’t affect it. It’s a custom post type archive.

You can template it with a custom archive-product.php file in your theme.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Mike, I am grateful.

The bit about it not being a real page does make sense, but the bit about the custom archive-product.php went straight over my head unfortunately.

I tend to be ok with designing and building the content for the front end of a WordPress site, but close to useless when it comes to anything to do with the backend.

You just have to make a duplicate page with your full width page template and rename it with archive-product.php

    Thanks.
