    changed the wordpress url to my old

    That’s not good… Give this a read on how to reset it without a working WordPress dashboard.

    Personally I like this method myself.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Edit_functions.php

    If you do use that method, please make sure you make a backup copy of wp-content/themes/mantra/functions.php before editing it.

    Edit:

    Additionally, if you do edit that file, just make the top of it look like these lines.

    <?php
    update_option('siteurl','http://www.optometryceo.com');
    update_option('home','http://www.optometryceo.com');

    Then visit http://www.optometryceo.com/ and the options should be put back. If you can get in after that then put back the old wp-content/themes/mantra/functions.php file.

    First of all, Jan, Thank you! I am stressed about this and don’t like admitting that this portion is above my head. 🙂 If you have the time and heart to help me could you step through where I need to go. I am not sure where my files are at? I can only get into my wordpress.com account, is the .php in there? Thank you in advance for your compassion . 🙂

    If you follow the instructions in http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Edit_functions.php slowly and carefully, you can do this yourself. All you will need is access to FTP (or whatever file management application your host provides) and a plain text editor (to open the downloaded file and make the necessary changes.

    I ended up calling Bluehost and there customer service helped me out. The above did not work but I’m sure it was me and not the directions. Thank you all.
