I’ve already been through that thread, but she uses a different host than I do. I’m just afraid of deleting something and permanently breaking my site.

I have Bluehost, and there are several different cache folders. Do I delete all the files in those folders?

Ask your host to assist you.

    Okay. Thank you so much.

I contacted my host and they removed the update. They asked me not to update for a few more days until all the bugs get worked out.

I was about to ask my host to restore the website, from the 2 days old backup, but before that I found a workaround.

Here is the steps I had done. I am not sure it is the correct way. But it solved my problem

I had logged in to the server by FTP and renamed the plugins directory to plugins1. I had did this, since lot of google searches was hinting the culprit is WP Super Cache.

Anyway when I tried to logged in again, I got a message that the plugin directory is invalid and deactivating all plugins. The dashboard loaded with the usual update messages, asking to update all the networks.

Everything worked well. I renamed the plugins1 directory back to plugins again. And one by one I activated all the plugins. even WP Super Cache re-activated without making any trouble.

    plugins directory located at
    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/

    Glad to know it 🙂

Sajith! You are a god! Temporarily renaming the plugin directory was simple solution and it worked!
    Thank you!
