Support » Localhost Installs » Unable to log into wp-admin on WAMP

  • So stupidly enough I decided to link a custom domain to my on the WAMP server after I forgot that it’s only for testing and I actually need a server and now when I go into my localhost/wordpress, I see my site and it’s all crazy unformatted and when I go into my localhost/wordpress/wp-admin or my customdomain/wp-admin, everything is parked at godaddy (that’s where the domain is from) and I can’t even change it back to the localhost/wordpress that it was originated at because I can’t get back into my admin panel.

Is there anything I can do? And I will be buying a hosting server on Monday, I was using WAMP as a test to learn to work wordpress before I paid for a server.

  • You should be able to make short work of it using the phpMyAdmin method described in this article – Changing The Site URL – to reset the WordPress addresses on your local WAMP server back to “localhost/wordpress” instead of your domain. There are other methods described in those instructions, but be sure to read them carefully before choosing one if you need to.
