Hi there @basicbydesign,
Trying to activate Jetpack gives “Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.”
I am having a look at the Jetpack connection for your site minoxboutique.co.uk
and I am seeing an error: server error. requested method jetpack.testConnection does not exist.
Would you please delete Jetpack and then reinstall it as a first step here? You can follow these steps to do that:
- Start at Plugins → Installed Plugins.
- If Jetpack is currently active, click Deactivate to disable it. Then click Delete to remove it from your site:
- Go to Plugins → Add New.
- Search for “Jetpack – WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth”.
- Click Install and then Activate.
When Jetpack is installed back, click the green Set up Jetpack button to reconnect.
This handy guide explains that process in more detail: https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/#reconnecting-jetpack
Let us know how it goes!
Hi Joseph,
Thanks for the reply. I’ve been through the suggested steps and the same error happens again.
Please can you advise on next steps?
Many thanks
Michael
Hi Michael,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Thanks for the reply. I’ve been through the suggested steps and the same error happens again.
If your Jetpack connection is still not working after that, there may be something else installed on the site that’s causing problems.
The best way to find out if something is interfering is to test for a theme or plugin conflict. You can do that by following these steps:
Before proceeding with any of the conflict tests below, I highly advise you to upgrade your Jetpack plugin’s version to the latest release from here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/
- Temporarily deactivate all plugins except Jetpack, and clear your browser’s cache.
- Then, try the connection again. If the connection works this time, then you know another plugin is conflicting here.
- You can reactivate the plugins one by one, checking the connection after each one to discover which plugin is causing the problem.
- You can leave that plugin deactivated and/or contact whoever makes that plugin for help resolving the issue it’s causing.
If deactivating plugins doesn’t help, it may be your theme.
- Temporarily activate a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-One.
- Then, try reconnecting Jetpack again. If the connection works this time, then you know it’s a problem with the theme.
You can see these steps in detail in Troubleshooting manually.
You can contact whoever makes the theme for help resolving the issue it’s causing.
Please let us know how it turns out – we will be here : )
Best,
Plugin Support
