Support » Plugin: WP font-face » Unable to generate font-face package on fontsquirrel.com

    Hello,

I officially bought/licensed a font through Linotype.com for web usage. For this purpose I was able to download a font package (fonts folder) with a few files, among others files with the font formats EOT, SVG, TTF and WOFF. I also have in this folder a demo.htm (HTML example file), a demo.css (CSS example file) and a few other files.

I’ve installed your WP font-face plugin, and wanted to create a font-face package using Font Squirrel. After uploading the TTF-file the Font Squirrel webfont-generator reported: “The file XYZ.ttf is blacklisted by the Generator. Webfonts from other distributors cannot be regenerated.”

    – What to do now?
    – Is the Webfont Generator by fontsquirrel.com essential for using your WP plugin?
    – Isn’t it possible to generate the font package for your plugin by hand in a way?

    TIA.

I am sorry to answer the following in regards to your post.

    1) Please, choose another font for your project
    2) The fontsquirrel packs are essential for my plugin
    3) That would be _very_ inconvenient to do.

    Thanks for your answer.

    1) Unfortunately that is not possible because this specific font is part of the corporate design (CD).

    2) Yes, I’ve already thought that. – Maybe you could think about a comfortable alternative way instead of the package generation via Fontsquirrel in the future?

    3) What does that mean exactly? Inconvenient is not a problem as long as this is a one-time process. – So how would the steps look like?

Alternatively, I would integrate the font via @font-face through the CSS of my theme (that would be no problem for me), but I would find it more elegant to be able to select the font also via TinyMCE Advanced.

    Cheers!

Maybe renaming the font file helps? If not, you could use an open source/free font editor to change the internal font file name.

Afterwards the file might be accepted by FontSquirrel. This is by far the best solution.

If you insist to create the font package yourself. You will need to find another online/offline font convertor. Please check the example font folder for the files which you will be needing.
