I have been unable to restore (actually, migrate) a Multisite installation.
I understand that the ‘basic’ UpdraftPlus will “backup everything” which is what I want, but it does not appear to be backing up/restoring all of the sites in the MultiSite install. When I restore (migrate) to the new location, the primary site is restored normally, and I can see the other sites in the dashboard, but none are accessible (server error/nothing there).

What are the correct steps to install UpdraftPlus (network activate, etc??) and then get a full backup of all sites on a Multisite setup?

How can I confirm that all sites have been backed-up? When I look at the backupfiles I only see files with the primary site name. Should I see files named for each site, or are they contained in the primary-site files?

What are the steps to restore/migrate to the new location? The migrate part I know, but in the new location, setup already as a multisite install, is there a special way to install UpdraftPlus or certain way to do the restore?

    Hi Randy,

When you say, “to the new location”, are you saying that you’re trying to clone your WordPress install at a new URL? The free edition of UpdraftPlus doesn’t support this; it supports backing up and restoring of your WP install at the same URL – it does not include features for cloning WP installs to a new URL; that’s a feature of the paid version.

Yes, trying to Clone/migrate with the Migrate paid add-on..
But forget that for a second, how can I confirm that the multisite backup is properly created? when looking at the files created by the backup, should I see 6 files for each domain or would the entire multisite backup be contained in the files created with the ‘main’ name on the backup files?

    Hi,

WordPress.org rules don’t allow commercial queries to be dealt with on their website – https://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Commercial_Products – so please post here instead: https://updraftplus.com/paid-support-requests/

    Best wishes,

Regarding the bit about a multisite in general (that’s not specific to a paid product) – there’s only one backup set. i.e. There isn’t one backup set per site. There’s one backup set per WordPress install of whatever type, not per site within a multisite.

    Thank you.
Turns out the issues were DNS related, and not related to UpdraftPlus.
