Unable to edit themes within wordpress…

  • Hello friends…
I am facing a very peculiar problem in WordPress them editing….

I could not find any solution to this…
    so.. please help..

When i go to Presentation>Theme Editor

As usual, a list of files and a edit box appears, with style.css opened as default.

Now, when i click on any other file name, with a motive to edit that. The other files don’t open up. The page surely loads again,, and even the address in the address bar changes.. but the file opened by default remains there.. In other words, I am unable to open other files to edit them there.. 🙁 Please help..

  • Since editing the theme files open is dangerous anyway – just edit them on your computer in a plain text editor (like Notepad) and upload the modified files.
Always make a backup copy before altering the files.

I know it’s dangerous, but I, too, have this problem since upgrading to 2.3.

Editing and uploading is really a long proces… don’t like it.. 🙁

and when something is availble.. why can’t we use it???

    can anyone help out??
