I have a simple text-box widget with html code in it but I can’t edit that code/text. If I try to highlight text by dragging the mose then nothing happens. The only way you can change or remove anything is to use the delete or backspace keys.

Equally, I can’t copy anything from a widget text-box as I can’t highlight the text in the first place.

I’m using the latest WP and I have Windows XP and IE7. There are no page errors coming up and java works fine on my PC so I’m lost !

Anybody know the answer to this one as many people seem to have the same issue ?

  • I’m actually having the same issue. Trying to edit a html code that I’ve copied and pasted into a “new”, separate blog (want the same look and feel of the current blog), however, I’m not able to select all, use my mouse not keyboard functions to highlight, cut or paste.

I am able to use those functions when writing a post, for example, just not when editing a code within a text widget.

Please advise. Don’t want to have to re-type codes or use the delete and/or backspace keys.

I had this problem in 2.7
Now, I can`t edit in php and css in the editor. I get a clipboard text box alert, page freezes and then the page shuts down
