Unable to display Types created Custom Field values

  • I am unsuccessfully trying to display the value of a Custom Field created with Types.

I created a group Books to appear on posts

Inside that group I created a single line field named writer slug also writer

If I go to one of my posts, I now see the books box with the writer field

I put the value test of author name in the field box

I update and now at the bottom of the page in the Custom Field Area I see a custom Field

wpcf-writer with the value test of author name

So far everything seems to be working

Now I want to display the value of the writer field in the content of the post. so I tried to put both shortcode below in the post content editor in text mode.

    [types field=”wpcf-writer”][/types]

    and

    [types field=”writer”][/types]

But these do not display anything

If I insert the php below using a php exec shortcode from the theme

    [xxx_php]the_meta();[/xxx_php]

I do get the display of

    ttw-force-post-full: on
    wpcf-writer: test of author name

Which are the two custom fields existing on the post(first one is a theme defined one). So the Custom field seems defined properly, but the types shortcode does not display it.

So is the types shortcode not usable in the content editor, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.
