Unable to display Excerpt Instead of Full Posts

    Hi there,

    I am podcasting through Seriously Simple Podcasting plug-in and really love the ease of publishing each podcast as a post that goes directly into my RSS feed.

    Problem is, I cannot figure out how to get the Excerpt view to show on my homepage rather than full summary. The shownotes tend to be pretty long, so I feel like it’s not a great UX for folks to scroll all the way through details if post happens to not be relevant to them.

    Anyway, I’ve tried going into “Reading” settings and changing to “Summary” instead of “Full”, and doesn’t change anything.

    I’d be so thankful to have some assistance in being able to display these as summaries and letting my users drill in if relevant.

    I’ll try to keep this as short as possible.

    If you at my demo site you’ll see that there is Read more links in the blog posts. You can create read more link in any spot you like creating More tag.

    I could write a longer answer how WP works with the content and excerpt but this is how this theme was designed. With that said it could all be changed via child theme but requires more custom work.
