unable to detect MySQL

  • When I attempt to run the install.php script, I get the following message:

    “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress.”

    I already created the database on my host and have confirmed its functionality with my host’s technical support. I have filled out the correct user name, database name, database password, and database host in the wp-admin.php file before I uploaded it. Any ideas?

  • That’s usually a sign that PHP and MySQL cannot “talk” to each other. I am not a techie person but I remember knowledgable members talking about the missing mysql extension in PHP… or something like that 🙂
