• It is regarded as a good security precaution to delete the default user called admin. When trying to do this, our server works for a while, then the webserver becomes unavailable, and afterward, the admin user is still there.

Note that this happens after I changed the ownership of all posts and pages that previously belonged to the user called admin, though there might be other types of content still in the imperishable admin’s ownership.

  • have you tried just changing the name of the default user? The one in the database with the id of 1?

Go to your phpmyadmin. in the table wp_users, When you find the admin account, change the user_login value to whatever you want. For example you can replace ‘admin’ to ‘bob’

hit “go” and that should be it.
