This is a fallback to the local mail system when Post SMTP has an error sending an email.
What SMTP service do you use ?
Does it happen only once ?
Hi Yehudah,
Thank you for the quick response.
I only have 2 sites currently using this plugin and have set up a gmail account to handle the email sending for both.
but I don’t know which one this error is originating from.
Regards,
John.
Hi
Sorry for the delay
could you edit this file with FTP:
/Postman/Postman-Mail/Zend-1.12.10/Mail/Protocol/Smtp.php
change line 209
from
stream_context_set_option($this->_socket, 'ssl', 'allow_self_signed', true);
to
stream_context_set_option($this->_socket, 'ssl', 'allow_self_signed', false);
does it work ?
Hi Yehudah,
I understand the delay and appreciate your time.
I have 2 sites running this plugin and have made the change just now to both of them. I’ve done both because I don’t know which one is reporting the message.
Since raising this job with you I have not seen the error message again and don’t know if/when it will next occur. Nor do I know what causes it. This makes it very difficult to test.
Thanks,
John.
@trustedsamuri,
If you don’t mind let’s leave it for a while.
I will check with you in a week or two.
Hello Yehudah,
We didn’t have to wait very long. I have received another email. Interestingly it comes from an email address which must be my hosting account.
The message is exactly the same. Is there any way to determine where this message has come from? As I mentioned earlier, I have 2 sites with this plugin and was thinking of adding it to more. But when an issue occurs it makes it hard to work out which site is generating it.
Thanks for your time with this.
Regards,
John.
