Hello! I have Siteground and am trying to configure the firewall on my site. I have been following the instructions specific to Siteground clients. I made the adjustments suggested via the PHP Variables Manager in my cpanel. Still no luck. I then clicked on the “Click to view your system’s configuration in a new window” box and checked to see if the .ini file was in the correct place and I see nothing like it listed in either spot. What should I do next? Are there more instructions specific to Siteground sites?

    Many thanks!

    Hi,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. When you’re using the PHP Variables Manager, are you entering only “auto_prepend_file” before clicking the “add” button? (cPanel’s process is a little awkward, and I’ve seen a couple cases where the location of wordfence-waf.php was pasted too early.)

We’ve also identified some differences between some of SiteGround’s servers and are working on more solutions — so there might be another cause of the problem in this case. Does the PHP Variables Manager show any messages when completing the steps?

You can add this to your site root folder:

    SetEnv PHPRC /home/*****/public_html/php.ini

replace ***** with your username – it will make the php.ini work for all your files and folders without having to add it in every single folder that’s necessary.
