Unable to Comment -receive 404 Error page not found

  • ejeffreys

    @ejeffreys

    I am very new to this and need some help! My site is http://www.divasmph.org and I am currently using Mystique Theme 1.05. Visitors are able to leave comments on all of our pages except the homepage…where we post all of our blogs. When someone goes to click on comment it send them to a page that says 404 Error: Page Not Found. Since I am new to this I have no idea where to begin to fix this problem. Please provide as much input as possible. Thanks

    Try resetting your custom permalinks to the default setting. If that works, then try reading:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks
    before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

    Yes that worked!! Thanks a bunch!

    Another problem could be “paged comments”
    turn off “break comments into pages…” in settings > discussion

    backticks
    “Not Found
    The requested URL /wp-comments-post.php was not found on this server.
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2.0.63 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.63 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at oslofashionfair.no Port 80″backticks

    I have tried the suggestions; “try changig permalinks settings back to default” – did not fix the problem, an I tried deactivating “break posts into pages…”, neither fixed the problem.

    Can someone please help meg. I am not a “code nerd”, but understand a little bit… 🙂

    Thank you in advance. Cathrine/Norway
