I appear to be unable to open and edit the contents within the widget on any of my pages?

We can not reproduce the issue. Can you test on our system (with wordpress 4.5.3, Twenty Fourteen theme and latest WP Page Widget activated) and confirm the issue is still or gone?

That works ok for me. So conflicting plugin maybe?
