Support » Fixing WordPress » Unable to change or add images

  • I’m not sure what settings were changed or updated (I can’t recall making any today) but I am now unable to edit images on my page. The “Edit” button under where the images lie does not do anything and the remove button is also inactive. Most recently I noticed this on a new page I am trying to build, but have gone back recently and it looks like this is a site wide issue. I’m using BeaverBuilder as an extension of WordPress so that could also be an issue but I looked at a few other forums and it looks like other users here have experienced the same issue. Please let me know what I can do to fix this error and start updating/ adding images to my site.
    Thank you!

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Nineteen theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Hi James,

Thanks for getting back to me, I have downloaded the health check but had a question about the process. Assuming it is a theme or plug in, is there a way to still use my theme/plug in and prevent the issue or are you suggesting that I would need to find alternatives or run into this issue once again?

    Thanks,
    Kyle

If you identify that it is a plugin or your theme, the next thing to do is to reach out to support for that specific plugin or theme, or find an alternative.
