• Hi,

I have recently installed Relevanssi onto one of a eight sites that I’m working on (a network of region-specific sites for the same company). Having not used Relevanssi before, I’m a little in the dark, but I’m fairly certain things are falling over on Step 1 and I can’t see why.

When “building the index”, while i do get a “indexing complete” message at a few minutes, all of the sections in the “State of the Index” remain blank – and whenever I reload the page, I’m told there is not index built. It seems none of the pages/posts are being picked up/indexed? I assume there should be some kind of number after the “”documents in the index” etc section?

How do I know I have an index/see what’s in it?

Apologies – I’ve searched the help area, and this doesn’t seem to be included. Thanks for the assistance.

Is that network a Multisite installation? In that case the solution is simple: you need to buy Relevanssi Premium, as the free version doesn’t work in Multisite environment (you can install it on one subsite and that should work fine, but no guarantees).

If State of the index remains blank, that means there’s a problem with the database. Most likely the database tables are simply missing. If you’re on a single site installation, I would try reinstalling the plugin.
