Support » Plugin: The Events Calendar » Unable to add new venue/organizer when creating a new event

Since the update 4.3 i have some issues to add new events:
    – the datepicker doesn’t work anymore
    – unable to add new venue (but i just can select existing venues)
    – unable to add new organizer (but i can seleect existing organizers)
    – unable to switch to html view of event’s description

The workaround for the venue and organizer issue is to create them before to create the event. What is not convenient… 🙁

I use a multilanguage website with qTranslate-X and a child them of MH Magazine lite… it could be related to these (?)

(Last update 4.3.1.1 didn’t fix this)

  • I can reproduce this issue on a clean WP install with just your plugin.

I use a shared hosting. I don’t have a specific SSL certificate, but i use the one of my web hoster.

Visitor of my website don’t use ssl, but i use it to login and manage the website.

Still having this issue with the latest version of The Event Calendar (4.3.4.1) and latest WP 4.7.

When i activate the console debugger of Firefox i see this error about event-js.js :

TypeError: $(...).bumpdown is not a function

Do you plan to fix this issue soon?
Thank you to let us know.

    Hey @alexisj,

First let me express my apologies for not getting back with you. It’s sometimes difficult to track older threads on our end, and this one seems to have slipped through the cracks unfortunately. 🙁 Again, so sorry about that.

This issue is actually a documented bug, and is slatedn as a priority 1 (our highest priority) to be fixed shortly. Unfortunately, I don’t know exactly when. 🙁

Thank you for your patience on this matter, and I’ll try to update you when it’s been fixed. I also recommend you keep an eye or our release notes page here for updates.

    Best,

    Shelby

    Hello!

I wanted to share that we’ve just published The Events Calendar 4.3.5, which includes some fixes to our plugin JavaScript and asset loading. These fixes should help address some of the problems reported here.

You can learn more about the release on this page → https://theeventscalendar.com/maintenance-release-the-events-calendar-4-3-5-event-tickets-4-3-5-and-premium-plugins/

    Cheers!
    George

    Sorry…. but TEC 4.3.5 don’t fix my issue…

Sorry for the continued trouble here!

4.3.5 seems to have resolved this in other cases, so it’s puzzling why it would continue here.

Just to rule out the obvious, do you have any caching enabled that would prevent the changes from being recognized after updating the plugin?

    Thanks,
    Geoff

Hello. Thank you for your answser.

Howerver i don’t use cache. My condig didn’t change since the issue was introduced TEC 4.3.

I’m currently investigating with my web hoster. When we activate WP debug, we note something weird :

Warning: file_exists(): Unable to find the wrapper "httpss"

httpss –> maybe there still an error of conf into the backend of the app?

With latest TEC 4.4.0.1, same issue, but different message into the Firefox console:

    Hey there!

Sorry, we meant to follow up a heck of a lot earlier.

We shipped a fix for this in version 4.3.5 but are currently on version 4.4.0.1. Please update if you haven’t already done so and that should help resolve the issue.

    Cheers!

@alexisj What you’re referring to is indeed a separate issue. Will you please create a new thread so we can start fresh?

    Thanks!
    Geoff

You marked this post as RESOLVED ?

It is not the case for me.

I opened this threat, made test, give you feedback.

    Not fair.

    Edit : finally fixed! 🙂
