    It’s not from WP, it’s your server. You made your subdomains wrong. They need to point to where newworldco-op.com is installed, NOT their own location.

    In cpanel, the default path for a subdomain is usually /public_html/subdomain/

    Change that to /public_html/

    Thanks very much..that worked. I have a follow-up question…

    Do I need to go into cpanel for every new site I create in network admin or is there a way where the subdomain is created automatically?

    That would be called making Wildcard subdomains.

    cPanel should let you make a subdomain of * (yes, just * ) and that will map to /public_html/ and will work for all subdomains.
