Support » Plugin: Photo Gallery by 10Web - Mobile-Friendly Image Gallery » Unable to add images to gallery

I am fairly new to WordPress and have just installed the Photo Gallery plugin. All was going well until I tried to add images to a gallery. If I use the “Import from Media Library” option I don’t have a problem however if I try to use the “Add Images” option and select images from the image repository I just get a spinning progress wheel that never completes. This happens even if I try to add a single image. I am running WordPress 5.6 and Photo Gallery 1.5.66. Any assistance will be appreciated.

    Dear @pica53,
    Thank you for the report.
Please update the plugin to the latest version 1.5.67.

Try to troubleshoot the plugin with Health Check & Troubleshooting.
This can help identify any possible conflict with other plugins.

    Sincerely,

I’m having the same issue. I installed the recommended plugin, opened Photo Gallery in troubleshooting mode and added a new gallery successfully. It was the only plugin active. I disabled troubleshooting mode and could not add images. Went back into troubleshooting mode, again Photo Gallery was the only active plugin, and still could not add images.

    Dear @arswebdesign,
    Thank you for the response.

Do you see any errors in your console when trying to add an image through the gallery plugin?

Let me reconfirm again: the images failed to get added even when the only active plugin was the gallery plugin. Is that so?

    Sincerely,

No error. When you add a new gallery and click the ‘Add Images’ button, a popup opens and the loading indicator (circling arrow) just spins and spins. I don’t even get to the point where I can upload/select images. Unfortunately this is intermittent.

I just tried again in troubleshooting mode with just the photo gallery and trouble shooting plugins active and it worked. I have circled back and tried three more times and it failed.

    Dear @arswebdesign,
Would you please activate the plugins one by one while in the troubleshooting mode and see which one affects the gallery upload functionality?

    Sincerely,

I activated each plugin, clicked the ‘Add images’ button, and got the followup screen. I deactivated the troubleshooting mode and it failed. I’ve done this in both Firefox and Chrome. For reasons I won’t go into, I’m stuck with PHP 7.0 and have not updated to the latest version of WP (I’m one version back).

I just went back to the site open in Firefox. I put it back in troubleshooting mode, enabled just Photo Gallery, clicked ‘Add New Gallery’, clicked ‘Add images’ and it failed (pop up with spinning arrow).

There just doesn’t seem to be a consistent pattern. Being a web applications developer, I know how frustrating that is.

I updated to php 7.3.26 and the latest version of WordPress this afternoon. Now I can’t add new images even in troubleshooting mode.

I appear to have found a contributing issue – probably the answer. I had some malware injected into my theme. Having removed that, the add images selection screen has opened successfully in six attempts.

I thought I would wait for arswebdesign to resolve the issue for me 🙂 but it looks like they may a different issue. I have updated Photo Gallery to 1.5.67 and deactivated all plugins except Photo Gallery but the problem persists. If you wish I am happy to give you access to my site so that you can test it yourself. If you wish to do so please advise of an email address that I can use to send you the account details.
