    Hi,
I am getting this error after scanning my site:

Unable to accurately detect IPs Type: IP Detection

Details: Wordfence was unable to validate a test request to your website. This can happen if your website is behind a proxy that does not use one of the standard ways to convey the IP of the request or it is unreachable publicly. IP blocking and live traffic information may not be accurate.

To resolve the issues, I have gone ahead to the dashboard>Global options>general wordfence options>How does Wordfence get IPs. I have tried all the options but none of the detected IPs match my own IP address. The error is still there. What else do I need to do to help resolve this?

    Hi @jopoo,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

It sounds like you might have already done this step, but I just want to confirm. Find your public facing IP address at: https://whatismyipaddress.com/. Then look at Wordfence > All Options > General Wordfence Options > How does Wordfence get IPs and cycle through the options there until it displays the IP address you just discovered. That will be the setting you need to use going forward, so click the Save button once you’re done. You’ll also see an + Edit trusted proxies link under this section where you could add your IP.

Also, can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence.com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on Send Report by Email. Please add your forum username (@jopoo) where indicated and respond here after you have sent it so we can be on the lookout for it.

    Thanks,

    Hi Tiffany,

I have somehow managed to get two options that correctly match my IP. I still don’t know how but it’s exciting.
But what’s surprising is that the 3rd option is detecting 2 of my correct IP addresses and the 4th option is detecting one correct IP address. Which one should I use?

    Thanks,
    Jopoo

    Hi,

I have been able to resolve the issue through the Use of the X-Real-IP HTTP header option as explained above.
Thanks so much for your help!

    Regards.
