I keep getting the below error. and as a result I cannot edit my website. I have to get my host to go in and deactivate Ultimate Member. Sometimes it corrects itself by deleting Ultimate member and reinstalling and reactivating. Other times it does not work. Occurrs about 3 times per week. Clients are complaining. Getting ready to dump Ultimate Member and use another Membership Plugin. Please help!!!!

    Hi @htw1179

You can share the google drive files when sharing the link. share it with everyone who will have access to the link. Please see this doc article:

    Hi @htw1179

We use the ‘pre_get_terms’ filter for getting the restrict access settings for the terms on your website. There is some chance that other plugins on your site or theme are performing term requests in early hooks or right before the main WordPress files are loaded. (e.g. pluggable.php file where wp_get_current_user() is declared).

I have added a small workaround to the version below. Please verify that this solution resolves the issues.

    Please try this version https://www.dropbox.com/s/f3765iqv7f00ak1/ultimate-member.zip?dl=0

    Ultimate member support.
I have provided you the screenshots form my website, well over a week ago. I have had this problem for over a month . This has been leaving me without any sign in capability for my clients. Can you remove any configuration or settings associated with Ultimate Member from my website. Then maybe I can try and reinstall Ultimate <ember Plug in fresh. I really would appreciate your help but I cannot keep frustrating my clients like this. I would even purchase the premium version of Ultimate Member if I knew it would work or if there is another avenue for support. I would prefer to stick with Ultimate member but it may not be possible if this issue cannot be fixed. Please respond!

    Hi @htw1179

Sorry for the delay, I shared *.zip file above with the probably-fix version. This version has been already released this week. It’s the 2.4.1 version, please upgrade to it and check how it works.

If you aren’t able to login to your wp-admin because have the issues with login when UM is active, you can temporarily deactivate UM via FTP (just temporarily rename “wp-content/plugins/ultimate-member” folder to “wp-content/plugins/_ultimate-member” and go to the Plugins page after login to wp-admin.) After that, you may rename UM folder back and upgrade to the 2.4.1 version properly.

Let me know if 2.4.1 doesn’t work for you and if an additional fix is needed.
    Best Regards!

nsinelnikov, First thanks so much for taking the time to help me. Ultimate member is the product I want to use because it has the features I like. I was initially getting the Fatal Error. I am hoping that the new version will correct that issue. I deleted the old version of Ultimate Member and installed the newest. As soon as I did that and went to view my website I received the error below the dotted line. I then deactivated Ultimate member and was able to access the website without the Ultimate Member capabilities. Do you have any suggestions?
    Thanks so much!

    Hi @htw1179

Thanks for your prompt reply and patience!
Are you seeing a 404 error on your home page? If yes, please check the following settings:
    1. WP Admin Dashboard > Settings > Reading https://www.screencast.com/t/cEkqI4EcaWtm
Find there the Homepage option and see that it’s not empty with selected page.
    2. Then go to WP Admin Dashboard > Pages screen and find the Homepage page https://www.screencast.com/t/AciZCwJec9lR Click on “Edit page” link.
    3. Then please check the settings for your front page. https://www.screencast.com/t/2GPcIAEdq Please set it visible for everyone (I guess that homepage must be visible for everyone).
    4. As “plan B” you could check the terms of this Homepage page. Probably you have set the terms with their own Restriction settings for this page.

Let me know about the progress and results,
    Best Regards!

    nsinelnikov,
Again cannot thank you enough for your help. I validated that the Home Page Setting is not empty and that the Home Page was visible to the Public. Please See attached screenshots:
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BDDfIVY994ejtOWxX9gV3nX3RpZFWMH7?usp=sharing
Activated UM and went to website receiving the same error below dotted line.
Deactivated UM and was able to access website.
About a month ago when I was continuously receiving the fatal error I would simply delete UM and reinstall to get around the fatal error. After one of the installs I noticed a message regarding UM that it was loaded in the wrong folder. Sometime after that I started receiving the Page Not Found error beneath the dotted line. Potentially that may be the root cause. If i could delete out any links or folders associated with UM from my website, I could try a fresh install , Unfortunately I do not know how to do that. I would appreciate any thoughts you may have.
    Thanks

    Hi @htw1179

I saw your screenshots and it’s ok that page is “Public” via WordPress native settings. But I cannot see the Ultimate Member Restriction Settings metabox for this page. See my screencast with these settings: https://watch.screencastify.com/v/N4w87c6GDz2OxkzFCpxb

Regarding issue with redundant copies of Ultimate Member plugin, I can suggest the next steps:
    1. Please make the backup via the hosting.
    2. Please make the search on your cPanel or ask the hosting provider. Find the folders where are ultimate-member.php file. It should help to find all redundant folders and copies on your website and install only one to “wp-content/plugins/ultimate-member” folder (that is correct).

As soon as you make the cleaning up of redundant copies and verify that there is installed and active only one Ultimate Member version and it’s the latest (2.4.1) and there aren’t restriction settings for the homepage I can suggest the next steps for the issue’s investigating.

I hope this steps help you,
Let me know about the progress.

    Best Regards!

    nsinelnikov,
I worked with my host to delete the files within the Ultimate member folder for my website. The screenshots are attached showing the Ultimate member folder files (prior to deleting the files, deleting and after deletion).

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BDDfIVY994ejtOWxX9gV3nX3RpZFWMH7?usp=sharing

After deleting the files, I then installed the newest version of Ultimate member 2.41. I then tried to access my sit and received error Page Not Found. Both of these screenshots are attached in the same folder as the previous screenshots.
I then deactivated Ultimate member and was able to access my website.
I really appreciate your help and if you are frustrated, I can use another member product but i believe your product has some great features. I would certainly be glad to upgrade once I know this product can work on my website. Again, your time and help are greatly appreciated.

    Hi @htw1179

Thanks for your reply and great that you resolve with hosting the issue with plugin duplicates on your website.

Sorry, but you’re still missing to share the Ultimate Member Restriction settings screenshot for the homepage. The fact that it is Public according to the standard WordPress settings means that it is published and will be displayed in standard situations.

But the Ultimate Member offers flexible settings for displaying pages for a specific range of roles, users, or guests of your site. It is important to pay attention to these settings. 99% chance that access to the homepage is closed due to incorrect settings set up.

Let me know what Restriction Content settings you have, because without information about them I can not give you useful information on how to solve the 404 error on your home page.

    See these docs:

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/1620-restriction-content

Let me know the information about the Ultimate Member – Restriction Content settings on your website,
