Hello there, we need a membership control plugin to work on one single WordPress site that is part of a WP-network multisite.

I found two 2 years old support topics about some problems with multisite user management and Ultimate Member, but how is it now?

We want to use the user registration only for one site of the network and we do not need user synchronization between other sites of the network. (That’s a feature someone asked for in those older threads.) On the contrary, the other sites in our multisite network do not have user logins.

    Hi @w-sky

As you’ve seen WordPress as a Network (Multisite) install registers new users by default on the whole Network, users will have access behind the scenes (../wp-admin/*) through that membership to the network and the primary site. They do appear from the front of the site to be logged in from any of the sub-sites, as they are logged into the Network as a whole.

Do you want to prevent users registered in Site A from accessing Site B?

    Regards,

Do you want to prevent users registered in Site A from accessing Site B?

No we don’t. The other sites don’t have logins (except admin logins of course) and are freely accessible for users.

If a user from site A would use his login on site B/C…, I understand he would gain guest rights (correct?). But in our case this would not matter, aside from the fact that we assume that users will not even try.

    Hi @w-sky

When you install UM in a multi-site setup, it only installs UM settings and generates Pages in the main site or subsite where you activated it.

Let me know if you have encountered any issues so we can help you investigate the issue.

    Regards,

Thanks a lot, in this case it will work fine for us. I’ll get back if we encounter any problems. 🙂
